About me: I am Wendy Bi, a storyteller and a wedding photographer based in Columbus, OH. I have been a historian who enjoys telling historic stories by weaving written materials together. During my first field trip, I found I got much fun by shooting documentary pictures for the persons I visited. That was the moment (about twelve years ago) when I began to develop interests in photography. In the following twelve years, I finished a dissertation in history and shot weddings, baby showers, or graduation ceremonies for my family and friends once in a while. Some of the pictures won awards in various competitions. But those are not the most important things. What matters is that after the twelve-year exploration of different paths, I decided that photography is my dream job - which combines both my interests in telling stories and my desire to create art. With a sensitive heart, I am keen to the subtle changes of light, environment, and people's expressions. Pictures thus become the best tool for me to interact with the world and also to express myself. At the same time, this ability enables me to capture the most authentic, touching, and beautiful moments of my subjects. This year, after updating my photo gears, I think it is time to launch a full-time business in Columbus, where my husband and home are located. My husband is a scientist in "medical" images :) But he also has a passion for photography. He serves as my assistant when it is necessary.
