My name is Kári Björn. I am an Icelandic-born photographer and I specialize in weddings, portraits, and other happy gatherings. Originally I was a chef. I went to culinary school in Iceland and worked in Michelin restaurants in Europe and the US. I spent most of my time off photographing the sublime landscapes of my home country until I moved to New York City in 2014 to pursue photography at Parsons School of Design in New York City. Along with and after my studies I worked as a freelance photographer and editor. My previous editorial and commercial clients include Vanity Fair, InStyle, UN Women, The French-American Foundation, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, KRANTZ KRANTZ, Baruch College, NPR, and Inspired by Iceland. In the past 9 years of my photography career, I have photographed a lot of weddings and events, and found that I am the happiest when I capture joyful authentic moments.
