I'm an
Individual
Let me start by saying thank you. I appreciate the very fact that you've taken a moment out of your very busy day to see what I am all about.I'm never going to use to word 'we' here because everything you see here is a one woman operation. My name is Dhanielle, I'm a late 20-something mom living in Chicago with my beautiful young daughter and my techy fiance. We're pretty silly. I picked up my first camera at a very young age. By 16 I was already working in darkrooms learning to develop my own film and prints, a member of the National Art Honor's Society and I even ranked 2nd in Chicago and 10th in the State in a youth photojournalism competition sponsored by IHSA. At the age of 17 I landed my first children's portrait job. I eventually grew and worked for Picture People for a time and co-managed their mobile photography services which refined my eye and lead to my love for studio lighting. From Picture People I went on to Sears. After seeing my work they relocated and promoted me to studio manager bouncing around a couple high volume studios for a few years until Sears went out of business and I had my very own baby girl. After a time of being a stay home mom I knew I wanted to start my own photography business. ShyTown Photography was born. So here's my promise to you.. Not only from a photographer's standpoint, but also a mom's, I fully understand every detail that goes into picture day. I understand corralling your kids out of play clothes and into something presentable, hair combed, teeth brushed and out the door feels an awful lot like herding cats. I have never and will never make any client feel rushed. As a mom, I can spot those expressions that make us melt. I love the sweet smiles, the big laughs, the soulful eyes that can pop in a little pouty face. I can not express to you how much I love what I do. These little fleeting moments we have with the ones we love are so easily over looked in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Sometimes all it takes is a slip of a shutter to press the pause button and truly appreciate everything we have in this moment. I invite you to check out www.....com to view my work
