I hold a B.A. with top honors in Fine Art, specializing in photography, drawing and printmaking in 2006, and cut my professional teeth as a photojournalist (primarily sports) with a daily newspaper serving the 7 extreme counties of NW Ohio. That's right, I have experience in traditional film/darkroom photography as well as digital (and am up for talking shop with enthusiasts)! During this time I also began shooting portraits, weddings, and landscapes, people in their environments -- anything I could, as well as instructing. Notable accomplishments include placing 1st and 3rd in a show judged by National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson in 2012 and juried exhibitions including the 2018 Hoosier Women Artists Show on display for a year at the statehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. I grew up visiting western NC as a kid, worked as a whitewater rafting photographer for the Nantahala Outdoor Center in 2007, and moved to Polk County as a permanent resident in 2019.
