My passion lies in photography, however I also immensely enjoy creative direction. I have worked with several different brands creatively, ranging from smaller boutiques to big name makeup corporations. For each collaboration or shoot, I personally originated the idea or theme, styled the models myself, photographed them, expressed my hair and makeup desires and then edited and retouched the final shot. If the company couldn’t afford to spend money on props or transportation, I would take the initiative myself. From driving the models to the location to finding creative props at the Dollar Tree, I would do everything I could to ensure that my concept was executed affordably. I’m a low-income working mom, so saving money is a fundamental concept for me. For every personal project I plan, the model and I will collaborate on the wardrobe choices ourselves. We’ll shop at thrift stores, the sale rack at Forever 21, or our own closets in order to bring my idea to life, and let me tell you, it is so rewarding. My absolute favorite part is seeing the end result of everyone’s hard work. When I finish editing the photos, or posting the image to social media and receiving a bigger reaction from my followers than I’d anticipated, it’s the best feeling in the world.
