Frank D’Amato has a very broad range of artistic and photographic experience, always striving to go beyond, to create captivating images. Never losing the childlike fascination and curiosity for how things work, look and feel, Frank has found photography a way to continue to learn, experiment and expand his world. Since the first box camera and developing tank he received from his uncle while in elementary school, he has continued to create, first with film and later in the world of digital. After graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology in the late 70’s, he headed to New York City to work with the best photographers in the business. He became recognized for his freelance production, studio management and location scouting. He continued to shoot personally, and for clients like AT&T, Avon, Johnson & Johnson, and others, till he headed west. In the Dallas / Fort Worth area, he worked for the Department of Defense on contract, for the US Air Force. Later by an Officer’s referral, Frank left the project to work with American Airlines Training Corp. to photograph jets for systems instructional development projects. Since settling in Southern California, Frank has worked with the Orange County Register, OC Metro, PR/Advertising Agencies, and Corporations, as well as Personal Commissions. He continues to peruse his personal fine art photography.
