Photographer in Boston, Massachusetts

I have been a freelance photojournalist since high school, where I documented the destruction and relief efforts of Hurricane Harvey on my home town outside of Houston, and I knew that's what I wanted to do for a living. There's something about visual storytelling that is so fragile, yet so powerful - it's the ability to capture a single moment in time, forever, that will never again be the same. Right now, I'm looking to get further experience in the field of documentary photography. This year, I photographed the Straight Pride Parade, capturing the moment police began pepper spraying counter protestors right next to where I was standing. In that moment, I knew I needed to begin searching for a job that could offer me more experience in the field, so that I can grow even further from what I already have been able to teach myself. Any and all opportunities to document public events (protests, natural disasters, news, gatherings, ANYTHING!) is what I'm looking for here. I've been doing this for a long time, but I want to cross the bridge into professional, contracted work.
