My name is Kathrine and I am an enthusiastic perfectionist that loves to take pictures that mean something. Don't settle for memories caught on your phone camera when you can have me, a fellow mom, help capture every special detail of your precious life. Children grow up way too quickly and they change every day. Don't let another moment pass without honoring who your child is TODAY rather than waiting until tomorrow. I specialize in lifestyle portraiture of children that captures the moment, rather than the classic stiff picture. My best photography comes from the heart and shows you exactly what your child, baby or family looks like everyday. I know that when I look back on my pictures of my own children, I want to recognize the child in the picture, rather than see a rigid caricature of what a child is "supposed" to look like in a picture. In addition to lifestyle portraiture for children, I also love photographing families and maternity. Unlike the classic photographer that puts your family into a random pose, I follow the ideal of "organic posing". Organic posing is a style that first starts by my suggesting a specific pose, helping your family get into it, and then waiting until you naturally fall into a more comfortable pose. I refuse to stand behind my lens and make everyone say cheese, because those are the pictures that look painfully forced. I am patient enough to wait for the perfect micro-expression to fall across your face before I click the shutter button. In regards to maternity, since I am a seasoned mother of two, I understand both the excitement of your body's miraculous change as well as the sometimes horrible dread that comes along with seeing a few extra pounds put on here and there. I am dedicated to helping you document your incredible new journey in a flattering and comfortable way, no matter how you choose to document. Nothing scares me at this point, probably because I brought a red headed little boy into the world, so don't be afraid to let loose when we shoot. Because every shoot is different, my typical policy is that I don't impose time limits on my shoots. We stop shooting when you feel like you are done, not when I get tired. I know that sitting in front of a camera can be daunting for anyone and so I do my best to help you or your child feel more comfortable without the added pressure of trying to get the perfect shot in a time limit. I also stand firmly behind my policy that if for some reason the pictures from the shoot turn out terribly, or your child is just having "one of those days", that I will be happy to reshoot free of charge. I have never had this happen, but the offer is still there because I refuse to make you pay for an awful picture. I am particularly good at working with cranky children, so don't be afraid if your child decides to throw the tantrum of a lifetime two seconds before we start working :) It doesn't bother me and I can usually still get a great shot in between the tears.
