Hey, I'm Macenzie, but you can call me Mac! When you read a photographer's bio, it usually goes like this: "I have had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember, and I have always loved photography." This could not be further from the truth for me. Growing up, my mom loved taking photos, and I would get so annoyed with her constantly asking me to stop and take a picture. Every shot of me from the time I was three until my teenage years consists of me not smiling, looking away from the camera, or mid-eye roll. Although I did ruin the occasional family photo, I treasure these pictures because they captured my genuine personality at the time (and they always give my family a good laugh). Ironically I now love capturing authentic moments, feelings, and relationships so those memories can be cherished. It also made me realize how important it is for images to be candid and natural rather than fake and posed.
