At an early age, Tyler began his work as a photographer and videographer. He wrote, directed, and filmed independent movies with friends, then turned to digital methods as new technologies emerged. His time behind the camera equaled his time in front of it. A natural ham, Tyler played lead roles in many theater and musical productions, and honed his skill at building a rapport with an audience. After college, Tyler began what would become a true love affair with flying as he worked toward his Commercial Helicopter License. This practice also sharpened his natural skill at composition by offering up angles he never saw with two feet on the ground. While obtaining his Airman certificate with multiple rotorcraft ratings, Tyler worked at Triscenic Production Services, the family business, doing sales for the biggest prop and set storage and trucking company in the industry. With a drive-on pass to all the major studios in Hollywood and run-ins with producers and directors in the business, Tyler was able to gain insider knowledge on the workings of studios and high-end productions. In 2011, Tyler began to work at a sound stage in Glendale, California as a Camera Operator, Engineer, and Technical Director. His Camera Operator credits ran for three seasons of the daytime courtroom hit - Judge Faith, as well as Comedy Bang Bang, TD Jakes, Oprah Winfrey Network, Netflix’s With Bob and David, Road Rules Real World reunion shows, commercials, music videos, and more. As an Engineer, Tyler transformed studio sets from empty boxes to fully connected professional productions by building AV systems from the ground up. Whether running cable and arranging microphones and lighting sets, or connecting and calibrating top-of-the-line camera equipment and complex control room systems, these hours spent in a tangle of wires gave Tyler the strong foundation needed to make quick informed decisions when time was of the essence. Comedy Bang Bang, TD Jakes, Project Runway, ABC commercials, Dance Moms, Drake & HAIM music videos, as well as Adriana Lima’s American Beauty Star are a few of the productions that he built-out and engineered. Tyler also worked as a Technical Director for two seasons of Bad Girls Club Reunion, HAIM and Aesop Rocky music videos. In-between studio productions, Tyler worked as a freelance videographer for OKTV and Celebrity Page on the Reelz channel. A world apart from the static studio environment, Tyler relied on his creative troubleshooting and on-the-spot lighting and framing solutions to ensure that local and national red carpet interviews, galas, award shows, and location shoots ran smoothly and made it to air without a hitch. In recent years, Tyler has been running his own business called Altus. Altus is a full service photography and videography company that caters to high-end real estate, yachts, and private jets. Now, with Commercial Drone Pilot added to his already existing helicopter pilot licenses, and with top-of the line equipment, Tyler has combined his love of film and photography with his knack for flight and unique airborne perspectives, giving his clients unparalleled footage of their multi-million dollar listings. Tyler resides in Orange County with his wife Jessica. When he’s not shooting yachts on the high seas, he’s either surfing, alpine climbing, flying helicopters, or planning his next international adventure. He has also begun work on his first novel.
