Photographer in Brooklyn, New York

I have always been interested in photography. I have a background in art and a BA in studio art from City College (CUNY). When I was a child my parents gave me a brownie camera. I was the family photographer. Later I graduated to a SLR camera. I took a class with a professional photographer and soon bought an enlarger. I did head shots for actors. I did some work with musicians in their milieu. I did a lot of street photography. I did some work for a small newspaper called Our Town. They promiced me a full time job as their photographer if they liked my work. They used to call me day or night, anytime and send me on a local assignment to shot a local politician or a community event. They published my work but never gave me credit for any of it and the job went to the publisher's nephew. I had an opportunity to do a study abroad program in China so I picked up a small Nikon Coolpix S1. I did a lot of shooting in China. Now I have a Canon Rebel EOS SL1 DSLR camera. I mostly do street photography but enjoy doing portraits. I'd like to expand my horizons in photography and learn while earning some money. I have a background in art so I know what a good composition looks like. I have an aalytical mind and I enjoy producing good quality images.
