How does my business stand out? As a photojournalist, I have a bit of a different eye. I tend to look at the world in a more detailed way. I am always aware of how the light hits a subject and I want to tell the story with my photographs. I love faces and have stopped people on the street to photograph them when I saw something interesting in their eyes. I seem to be able to evoke emotions from my subjects and they from me. Lately, I have been booking a lot of maternity sessions and I've found I have a special affinity for it! It's interesting to me because I don't have children, yet I'm very comfortable around them and expectant mothers...I love the innocence that a child brings to a photograph and I think that I translate that to an expectant mother as well. Portraits are my forte'.. I really enjoy the many variations that a face portrays. I really love empowering women, especially women who have the strength and the courage to face a camera when they don't "feel " perfect or "pretty". We get that right out of the way when I show them their photos and they can see how strong, powerful and beautiful they are! With men, I try to get them to feel comfortable; most men hate having their photo taken and often do it for a social media site or a work head shot. I try to make our sessions as quick and painless as possible and help them with what to wear so they don't over think it too much and stress out about it. What do you enjoy about the work you do? I love the constant variety of emotions that people's faces show.. I can photograph a person 5 times and each time will be unique, special, purposeful. I don't have any set genre; I love sports, animals, music, portraiture, inanimate objects and anything with color.. the unusual and eclectic... I've been a TOP PRO on Thumbtack since 2015, ranked #1 among the top five Thumbtack Pros in Tampa Bay and awarded the Best of 2015-202... Award and a TOP PRO 2015-202.... Only 3 % of pros on Thumbtack's site are TOP PROS .. I'm very proud of that. What makes me stand out as a photographer? I guarantee all of my work; if a client isn't satisfied with their final result, I will re-shoot for free until we get it right and they're happy. I don't penalize a client if the weather is unpredictable and I will reschedule a complementary session if there is a weather event or client emergency. I offer a free phone consultation with any perspective client and really take the time to ask questions, perceive their vision and then do my best to make it happen. I recommend that to ANY perspective client.. I want to make sure we're a good fit for one another. Once we've settled on the hire, I will work with that client on location for the session. I often travel to wherever they are or else recommend spots that I feel would best suit their photographic needs and meet them there. I can often travel up to 50 miles or more! I never forget that the client is first. I also understand that for many people, this may be the first time they've ever hired a professional photographer and may not be aware of the costs surrounding a photo session.I keep my pricing fair and reasonable. But most clients are unaware of the post-production (after the photo-shoot) that happens and the time it takes to make their photos perfect and what they envisioned. I usually tell my clients they will receive their files via DROPBOX, a file sharing service within 7-10 days and I try very hard to stick to that deadline. Often it is much sooner, though and they are happy to get their photos much faster! I also often will send a few files later on that evening of the session via email, so they can get an idea of what we got from the shoot. I'm all about customer service and want my clients pleased with their final product. That is what makes me a happy photographer!
