My junior year of high school I could not decide what last elective I wanted to take so I ended up not selecting one. My counselors chose commercial photography for me and who would have thought I would fall in love with it and want to spend the rest of my life pursuing photography. So this brings me to my senior year and without a doubt I chose to be in advanced commercial photography, which is by far my favorite class of the day. I am the only advanced student in the photography class, so my teacher creates different projects for me that really make me think or learn more about the business side of it. I had the opportunity to interview another photographer, kind of like a job shadow. It was really beneficial to be able to ask questions that I had in mind for my business that I will have one day. My teacher will also give me projects that say “Make a Story” and will list words like “sun” or “diffusion” and I get to interpret it in my own way. Photography is a hobby I have become really interested in. It gives me something to clear my head and enter into a peaceful world of my own making. As I learn more about the aspects of photography and taking pictures, I found my love for nature and landscapes. There is something about going on a hike and taking a close up photo of a plant or leaf and making it your own that puts a smile on my face. The past year and a half I started to explore other types of photography and have become to love studio, portraiture and commercial photography. I love to take pictures of just about everything, whether it is a hundred pictures of my dog in the same position, or a nice sunset. I have also found that taking pictures for others brings me great joy. There is nothing more joyful than seeing the smile on my friends faces when they see their senior pictures or their babies first Halloween and Christmas pictures. Growing up I always enjoyed taking pictures. Everywhere I went I took pictures. It did not matter if I was at a football game or somewhere cool like Mexico. I still took a ton of pictures to have as memories. But it was not until recently that I actually learned how to use a DSLR and get into the aspects of photography. I provide services for senior, baby, freestyle, family and all age pictures. I also currently work for a magazine in Midlothian taking pictures of businesses, homes, and the people of Midlothian.
