Hello Ladies! My name is Alaxandra and I am a boudoir photographer newly based in San Diego, originally from Long Island, NY. About a year ago on New Years Day of 2016, my fiancé and I jumped on a plane and moved our life across the country for an adventure; a fresh start at creating a new life for ourselves in a place we had only dreamed of living. It has been a tough refresh, as I have basically started over in networking and meeting potential clients. So, Hello! Nice to cyber-meet you :) A little more about me: In 2012, I was dabbling in photography and began doing some fashion projects while managing a high-end boutique in Manhasset, NY. The project was one that I coined as 'Runway To Reality'. From the beginning it was always about empowering "real" girls and women to feel that they are enough exactly as they are. That experience cultivated my style into a medley of fashion, photojournalism, drama and mood. After some time I began shooting boudoir in 2014, when my friend and mentor at the time, Nicole Rochelle, suggested that it was a perfect avenue for me to venture because of my extensive background in the Fashion Industry. She was 100000% correct. Since then, I have been on a soul searching journey for what Im supposed to be doing for my life's work. This is it. Boudoir Photography is the place that I feel safe, understood and empowered. My souls' purpose is to create that same space for every woman that I come in contact with, whether they are in front of my lens or whether they are meant to just pass through my life. A little about this experience: We face vulnerability when we shed the layers of clothing; the only physical barrier that protects us from being seen by the world. And in turn, we shed our internal barriers; the ones that we use to protect our soul from being seen by others. I know this sounds deep, but to me, life is deep and I am constantly moved by the simplest things I see and experience on this journey. Something seemingly as simple as exposing the skin is a soul opening moment, and until it is experienced, most underestimate the empowerment it provides. I'm not saying that you need to shed your clothes to have this kind of shift; there are a multitude of ways to experience boudoir. It doesn't have to be in a bedroom or even in lingerie. Presently, boudoir has sort of redefined itself and in my opinion is more about the state of mind than it is about sexuality. It is a beautiful expression of art and of the woman form and that is exactly why I am so incredibly passionate about what I do. I have watched women go from insecure, judging themselves, to becoming transformed during the experience. Their confidence and self love was discovered & restored after seeing the results. I love that moment. The moment when they see their photos and fall in love with themselves like they never thought they could. When you capture a woman in her rarest, most uninhibited form, and help them to see themselves in a different light; thats why i do this. MY MISSION: To create magic with the women I meet.
