A proud Tamron Canada brand ambassador! Christy is a native Calgarian freelance photographer and writer, who specializes in lifestyle portraits, astrophotography and travel/landscape photography. Her travels have taken her to more than 70 countries and her work has been published internationally. Her astrophotography work is part of a “citizen science” project with UC Berkeley, where her photos are used to contribute to active space weather research. Christy will travel to any destination for photo work and was recently invited to Bordeaux, France in the Medoc region by Chateau Pontet Canet to photograph a 10-day wine harvest on an 18th century estate. Christy shoots with Nikon D810 and D750, and a host of Tamron lenses. Her work has been widely published with such organizations as CNN, Huffington Post, Readers’ Digest, The Calgary Herald, Canada....., Our Canada, Canadian Geographic, HELLO! Canada, Fast Company magazine, The Weather Network, Earthsky....., a featured portfolio astrophotographer in Winter 2019 PhotoNews magazine, and many others. Christy was a semi finalist in the Wine Photographer of the Year segment of Pink Lady Food Photography International Contest, runner-up in the “Urban Wildlife” category of CWF Reflections of Nature photo competition, and first place winner in 2016 for cover of Our Canada winter edition.
