When doing auctions, our team goes into the client's premises, pulls everything sellable out of the cupboards, crawl spaces, attics, etc., sets up "lots" and takes multiple photos of these second hand items. We then upload them into our system and generate basic descriptions and set pricing for each listing (ie: lot) using a formula. We are looking for photographers to accompany the project manager to the client's home or condo where each person is responsible for a portion of the premises to collectively photograph everything. They then upload these photos to our head office to set up in our system and then each person writes up the basic description and sets pricing. You'll need a smartphone with a good camera, we find DSLR's take more time and are not as good for this purpose and high speed internet at home. The success of each auction is based on the quality of the photos so we want them to look good but they are not glamour shots, and you need to be relatively quick but also thorough. We pay $18-$20/hour, including travel time for the photo days and $1/lot for the descriptions. Typical photo days are 6-8 hours plus travel, and it is ongoing freelance work. If this sounds like something you are interested in and good at, we want to hear from you.
