Photographer in Hatfield, Pennsylvania

My name is Jamaal King. I have been interested in photography since the early 90s. In my youth, my father was a p/t photographer for Howard University. He Introduced me to cameras & gave me my basic foundation and love for photography. In my high school and college days I was part of photography clubs where I learned how to develop film manually. There were a couple of expos I was part of. As an adult, I have 1 picture which has won an award and 1 with honorable mention. To help out a friend who is a p/t photographer, I was a his assistant for a wedding once. I was told to go take pictures. That was it. No other instructions. My friend was doing a video of the wedding and I noticed they had a “professional” photographer already. I decided to do ALL b/w candid pictures of the wedding and reception. When my friend turned everything over to the couple, they were shocked and grateful that they got a video and b/w candid pictures. From my understanding, once they viewed my pictures, in wedding album that they show company, they removed some of the “professional” photographer’s photos and inserted mine. I say all of this to say that this is not just a passing fancy. I have a knack for it. I have an eye for it I want to learn all I can about photohraphy. I am willing to learn. I just need someone to learn from. I am now ready to venture out onto my own and leave my mark on the world with my pictures.
