I'm an
Individual
I am currently working as a part-time photojournalist for the Design Hub at American River College, while attending Folsom Lake College and American River College full-time. Part of my job involves documenting the different projects with photographs, then writing articles based on the interviews I conduct with the other workers and post it online. I have experience working in Bridge and basic editing skills in Photoshop to adjust pictures to clarify them or create abstract, surreal images. As a part of the Design Hub team, it is also my job to produce creative artwork that compliments our mission. In addition to the more objective photographs that this job entails, I also enjoy art photography, where I am free to express myself by showing people the way I see the world through the camera lens. Then I complete the project with finishing touches on Photoshop, either clearing up the picture or making it more abstract, and finishing it off with a final look through Bridge. I am an accepted student at the University of the Pacific which I will be attending this fall. I am working towards an English Major with a Minor in Writing, and after I graduate I will be a photojournalist who travels the world capturing the decisive moment through my camera. My photographic style varies based on the task at hand, from the documentation as a photojournalist to a freestyle art photographer. As part of my art photography portfolio, my unique photographic style is to take pictures in different angles that challenge the viewer to the see everyday objects in an entirely new perspective. Then to add an even more surreal twist, I like to play with the different colors and adjustments in Photoshop creating a deeper abstract look. I enjoy taking night portraits using the bulb setting on my camera for more objective projects. I also experiment with light paintings by using the everyday lights around me to create abstract photographs. My hobbies include writing short stories, poems, colored pencil and graphite drawing, acrylic painting, clay work and glazing, fashion design, sewing, and crocheting.
