I am a professional multi-media artist seeking a photographer to join my ideal artist loft work space (no live in). The loft is near the Jefferson stop off the L train in Bushwick. The space is available now. The rent for this custom designed dark room is $500.00 per month. Your rental includes your dedicated work space as well as dark room use, communal space (fridge, lounge, meeting area), huge outdoor terrace with view of Manhattan. Upon request you can use a larger space for specific shooting projects. Details of the dark room: Private dark room ideal for traditional black and white printing or alternative process work such as wet plate or collodion. Darkroom features include: -Black and white enlarger with a variable cold light head. -Enlarger lenses and film holders up to 4x5. -Counter space for dry work/prep. -Large sink with the possibility of print sizes up to 16x20. -Print drying racks. -Print heat press. -Print washer. -Various tools and materials processing negatives. Darkroom has a high power exhaust fan to the outside, light tight door louvre to provide proper air flow. Bushwick Open Studios takes place each year - a great way to showcase your work to hundreds of people. - Layout: Large rectangular room with enormous bank of windows on one wall (50 ft x 26 ft). - Open communal space and lounge for personal projects and private studio events. - Darkroom for alternative photography processes. - Seeking 1-3 others to share a space with me so that we will be 2-4 people in total. Ideal candidate: Working in black and white or alternative processes photography. I am a fine artist working in film, video, fine arts and multi-media projects. In the studio are two photographers, a hair and makeup stylist, and a fine artist. We are interested in organizing occasional private, invite only artist events.
