Jane Brooks, 75, loves music in every way. In her life, she has sung in various choirs, served as the children’s church choir director, played the piano, and has instilled the value of music into all her children. In particular, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue has resonated with Jane her whole life. Her first memory with music was listening to a woman play Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue on the piano. Immediately Jane was swept away by the way her fingers danced up and down the keys and the enchanting upbeat tune the score provided. When Jane’s husband proposed to her he played the tune of Rhapsody in Blue in the background, and her children recall her playing a recording of the song in the house throughout their childhood. Unfortunately Jane recently lost her husband and was also diagnosed with Parkinson's. This wish will mean the world to her and bring up her spirits back up after these hard times. She is coming to Charleston to watch it preformed live on May 26th.
