Strongtree Images is owned and operated by Matthew J. Siegelbaum, a native New Yorker, born in the Bronx and raised on Long Island. I graduated from St. Joseph ’s College with a degree in Education and Minor in Art, but “will forever be a student”. I grew up with a camera in my hand, grabbing shots of anything and anyone that caught my eye. I started honing my craft by shooting accident scenes, public gatherings, and “in the moment events”. Through word of mouth I began photographing family parties, portraits, weddings and special occasions. Candid photos became my calling card and things took off from there. Photography has always allowed me to explore my creative side, seeking out details that others overlook. I prefer on location shoots and take a photo- journalistic approach to capture the life and energy of the people and environments that I photograph. When a photo can “speak for itself, and tell its own story”, I know I’ve succeeded in revealing the spirit of my subjects. Do you really want photos of you and your guests posing like Wax figures in a museum? I believe that the purpose of hiring a photographer is to “Capture Memories”. I excel at Fine Art Commissions and assignments for Environmental Imagery, providing photographs that creatively fulfill the vision of my clients. I am available for Special Occasions and Events, Portraits, Advertising, Commercial, Fine Art Commissions and Environmental Imagery. I use state of the art, high resolution Canon digital cameras and prefer not use large strobe and flash setups which tend to be more of an eyesore than a benefit. At all times, I try to pack lightly and travel quietly so that I may capture the most spontaneous photographs without interfering with the moment. If you need more formal portraiture, I do a have a portable studio that can be set up at your location.
