I'm an
Individual
“It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like, it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.”- Paul Caponigro I’ve always had a notion to observe, looking beyond the possibility of the actual scene in front of me; what it could be, and how the people or places involved would want to remember it. That way of thinking propelled me towards photography twenty two years ago. Through what began as a sideline interest, I discovered that my passion for photography far exceeded what my day job currently allotted. Not long after, I mused the notion of turning my passion in to business, never forgetting the foundation behind my desire; creating a vision for those who seek to capture more than the reality around them. My first professional photography foray was twenty years ago while living in Australia. I spent thirteen glorious months working for Qantas Airlines documenting the activity taking place at various airports they were associated with. My portfolio of work includes other recognizable corporate names such as Farmers Insurance, Coldwell Banker Real Estate, Legal Zoom, and Shopgate. In addition, I’ve worked with locally owned Austin businesses, Blue Flame, Wine Sensation, Barton Creek Lending Group, Goldwasser Real Estate, Joye & Reign-Interior Design and Austin’s Party Scene. My days off are spent donating my time and resources to shoot for non-profit organizations. I unequivocally believe that if you have, you give. Some of the most incredible humans and four legged humans I’ve been blessed to chronicle in photographs have been through, Wish of a Lifetime, Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, Canine Headquarters and Flying Disc Dogs of Austin. My attention to capturing the memory, and not the photo, is what I’ve built my career upon. I take the responsibility entrusted to me, whether by an upcoming graduate, bride and groom, small non-profit organization or large corporation, as a privilege to be part of who they were, who they are and all of what they will become.
